Suffering to live, scared of love

One last time I will attempt to explain the lyric. I’ll even break it down for you.

“Next time you’re skyping naked with some dude from a metalcore band (I see nothing wrong here. Something some people do and there’s nothing wrong with it.) using your stepdad’s new webcam (explaining that the webcam in question was new, and it happened to belong to their step-dad), think about all your bullshit (slang for stupid, untrue, nonsense) posts (display on a public view) on self respect (something that has nothing to do with whether you enjoy sex or do not enjoy sex. and whether you like to talk about it or not and irrelevant to how much you do or do not have sex.)”

The line is clearly calling out someone else for slut shaming and being a hypocrite.
That’s it. That’s all. Nothing more. Nothing hidden, No slut shaming. No nothing other than calling someone out for being judgmental and hypocritical.

The lyrics are as follows:

“So next time you’re skyping naked with some dude from a metal core band using your stepdad’s new webcam just think about all your bullshit posts on self respect” 

This entire line is about being hypocritical.
Say I post hating on someone for smoking (or hating on smoking in general) and then you catch me smoking, that would ultimately make the post I made a “bullshit post on not smoking”  

I can assure you that I, nor the lyricist are not misogynist by any means.

The point of the song (written with personal accounts of the people in our local scene/area, which is typical of most of the lyrics by Clever Words),  if you listen to the rest of it, is a realization in the bridge and outro that passing judgement on anyone is pointless and one way or another we’re all dumb people a lot of the time.

So, before immediately judging someone for being something, you should get your facts straight.
You can take it how you see it, or how it’s meant to be understood.
